Good evening, dearest readers~!
Once again, I simply must sing the praises of days off from work... I feel so accomplished after having all day to tick off item after item from what had been a frighteningly burgeoning task list. There's still a lot left, but at least I was able to make a dent, including finishing up some quick pony-doodles that had been sketched out over the past week and a half! So while it's not the largest or most impressive compilation, hopefully you all will enjoy them all the same~
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that this one might not be what I'd normally consider a doodle, strictly speaking, but it's going up here anyway. I probably don't draw enough Rainbow Dash, so for all of her fans out there, this one is for you!
I made myself sad with this drawing... TT_TT I don't know the story behind it or what even gave me the idea in the first place, but it just came out as I was aimlessly sketching. Poor Applejack. She looks a bit younger here too, so one can only guess what might be the reason for her sadness... as usual I'll leave that up to each of you to interpret as you choose!
On a cheerier note, and speaking of ponies I don't draw enough, I realized the other day that there is a very conspicuous absence of Twilight Sparkle in my past several entries, and that just won't do at all. So have this doodle of therapist-Twilight, whom I believe I promised I'd draw weeks and weeks ago, in my comments on EqD's Lesson Zero thread. Better late than never I suppose, no?
..Okay, I'm sorry, but this really was just screaming to be done, really it was! This is another piece that I had the idea for ages ago, but just have never gotten around to drawing for one reason or another until now. So, uhm, yes.... enjoy?
And actually, that was going to be it; originally I only had for pieces to put up here, but then I realized that meant a Roundup without Rarity (*GASP!*), which of course could not be allowed to happen. So have a turbo-quickie minimalist doodle of our favorite fashion-pony as a bonus, huzzah~
And that is it for the artwork this time around, I'm afraid. As always though, there are more projects in the works, including a few more commissioned pieces which I look forward to being able to share with you all at some point in the future. Until then, dears~!

You keep calling these things doodles, I feel like they will get offended at you someday!
I really liked the way you drew Rainbow Dash, you can feel her determination to get better and better every day, that she can do it with enough effort and she definitely wil lsomeday!
...sad applejack makes me sad though :( She doesn't receive much love and you show me her crying? Still, I'd love to hear a story on why she would be crying, maybe I will come up with one later...
What is Twilight doing with Rarity's glasses!? The detail on her mane was a nice touch to it!
Okay, for the first time you made laugh at your drawing instead of getting amazed. Should we call her Discordia? Too bad she will never get anywhere near Rarity!
And of course, Rarity is being Rarity. I don't think I need to say anything else!
As always, great works! Seeing these just made my morning around here.
If these are doodles, please never put time and effort in to a drawing. I might just squee myself to death.
Art like this is what's keeping me around. Also, yes, a round-up without rarity is simply not allowed.
Thank you for your work!
OMG! I absolutely love the Rainbow Dash picture! It's freaking incredible! Thank you so much for drawing her!
these are amazing! I think the best is rarity, but twilight and dash are very close behind.
Lesee here...one Pinkie in October and two in September. And you say you don't draw enough Rainbow and Twilight?
I see what's going on here...
'Why, yes. I AM the most awesome flier ever to be born!'
Applejack says nothing. In time, she will recover, but you always remember the day you lost your first apple.
'Sexy librarian chic? No, never heard of it.'
'Sexy trickster god chic? No, never heard of it.'
'Just chic, please.'
Quality over quantity I say; It doesn't matter how many doodles (I still think this word undersells it ;P) you have in a given post. Heck, I'd be content if you posted just one pic up; it always brightens my day to see a new post on the blog. ^_^
Anyways, onto the art:
I rather like how Dynamic RD looks here, determined to show her best.
I'd be a liar if I said I didn't like sad pics... I'm not heartless. XP
I also wonder how she got to be that way; something to ponder.
I really do like therapist Twilight, glad to see you draw her. =)
...I don't even know what to say about this one; it's... nice? ^^;
But seriously, I think it's rather hilarious. X)
And yes, it would be a crime if Rarity were to be left out of a Roundup; Fabulous as always. ;P
I always love your art WD, and this post is no different; Cheers!
Discord is in such a fabulous pose! Beautiful work, as always! Always such a joy coming here to see your "doodles". (I'm jealous, since I have no drawing ability.)
It feels so good to just Get Stuff Done, doesn't it?
Great Rainbow Dash drawing; as usual, you really bring out a pony's personality with their pose and expression, and the blue sky and bright clouds really add to the feeling of the image. As much as Dash loves visiting her friends, this is where she belongs.
That's a beautiful drawing of Applejack, even if it is sad; she's hurting, but not broken. This drawing strikes me as a great example of using a simple background effectively; while it's easy to distinguish AJ from the background, she doesn't stand out but, rather, almost seems swallowed up by the dull tones behind her. I don't think this drawing would have been nearly as effective against a plain white or black background, or even against a solid brown background. (As to why she's sad, my thoughts go to something we mentioned briefly in recent emails...)
I was hoping you would eventually draw therapist Twilight; she looks wonderfully adorkable in your style. :) As I mentioned on EqD, there's just something about her face that would make me relax and trust her. Which is rather ironic, considering how she spent most of the third act of that episode.
I'm still trying to decide if that's a female Discord or if he's just being very effeminate; whichever it is, it's a very humorous drawing. I just can't get over those eyes. @.@
And you end with a "turbo-quickie minimalist doodle" of Rarity in which you get her mane and tail right, make her eyes stunningly beautiful, and have her looking relaxed in a natural, appealing pose. Just how do you do that?
I don't understand how something done so quickly as the rarity can be so perfect!
Aaaaaaaaghhhhhh I have been SO busy all day!! I've had luncheons and family visits and errands and work and all I've wanted to do is get home so I can comment on this silly thing haha... ah how pathetic is that. So much to respond to..!
@Rarimi
*bone-crunching virtual hug* Oh, thank you so much dearest; you always do have such nice things to say about my work. ^.^ I'm glad you enjoyed all the pictures this time around!
And that sad Applejack picture, I know... I do apologize, but she just came to me as I was working and I felt it would be a shame not to share her, I suppose. After all, she really does need more love in fanworks as you say, and honestly maybe that's why she's so down! Poor little dear...
@sellyme
Well, as I said even I wouldn't really consider the Rainbow Dash picture a "doodle", even by my standards, though I know I still use the term a bit loosely. I guess to distinguish it from my fanart where I actually do make an effort to apply myself, you know, as opposed to just having fun and playing around... yes I suppose that's the difference.
But anyhow. Thank you so much for commenting; it means much as always. ^.^
@carfaxreport
Indeed, it would have been a crime. Happily I realized my would-be transgression in time and the internet was saved!
But in all seriousness, thank you so much for that dearest! (I hope you don't mind if I call you dearest; it's sort of a habit you know) Thank YOU for taking the time to leave your thoughts! =^.^=
@DJB123
I know, I thought of you as I was drawing and posting that one (I often think of you when I see good Applejack art, in addition to Rarijack stuff as I've mentioned before). I'm sorry if she made you feel sad too, but I'm glad you liked the compilation all the same!
@MASA
Heh, my pleasure... I was hoping you would enjoy that one. ^.^ I know that picture is a bit strange the way I ended up framing it, but I'm happy you like it all the same, thank you~!
@TomTheRock
Well, Rarity always has a slight edge, at least for me as I am so obviously biased, but thank you. ;) Especially since she was a last-minute addition! Fashion-ponies are the best kind of bonus material aren't they?
Heh anyway though, thank you for your comments dearie. ^.^
@Favo
Oh no, sadfics make me far too sad! Or at least the small handful that I have read before all did. Poor Applejack! Now I almost feel guilty for drawing her that way, d'awww~
And yes... Discord... I'm glad you got a chuckle out of that one as well! It wasn't actually intended as Rule 63 as a lot of people seem to be interpreting it, more like.... er, fabulously sweet transvestite-status, but yes. Regardless I am glad if people find it funny, because the idea danced on into my head one day and just wouldn't go away... ^^;
Thank you so much as always for commenting dear!
@Hio590
You present a valid point... honestly I suppose other than Rarity (obviously) and Applejack many ponies are sadly underrepresented on my blog. However I also know, as none of you could of course, that I do have a few other Pinkie pics I have sketched already but just haven't gotten around to coloring yet, so perhaps that's why I didn't feel I was snubbing her so. ^.~
Too bad there's only so much time in the day... alas. Someday I'll get them up here!
@Frankensteinbeck
Hahaha, somehow that Rainbow Dash quote reminds me of one from one of my favorite silly little fanfics, where she said something along the lines of 'Why, because I'm always so awesome? That's because I always win. By being awesome!' or something along those lines... it totally cracked me up and made me want to squeeze her, whatever it was. ^.^
And Rarity is the embodiment of the word chic, isn't she though? I do believe I will go and add her picture to Urban Dictionary's definition now, thank you very much~
@BND
Oh, yay thank you so much, I'm so glad you like them! I just always wish I had even more finished product to share with you all, but I suppose that will never change, as I certainly never stop getting ideas for new things. Only so much time in each day as I already said above, da da da~~
As always I much appreciate your comments, on each and every one of the pieces. Thank you! =^.^=
@Kateasaurus
Oh, dearest there you are! I haven't seen you around in ages... I wanted to tell you that I wasn't able to comment on your last blog post and I am sorry about that! And I mean, I really physically wasn't capable of it, seemingly. I think it's because there were no comments on it already, as once before (the one and only time I had a chance at being first on an EqD thread) I ran into the same problem... apparently it's a known glitch on Blogger or something. But anyway, I did want to let you know that if you think I could be of any assistance to you with your patterns/sewing queries at all, please don't hesitate to ask! You can even email me if you really want; I wouldn't mind at all.
Anyway though, thank you so much for the lovely feedback, it is appreciated as always!
@jodyjm13
It is, it really is... I wouldn't say the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders persay, but the equivalent weight of a giant, diamond-shaped hunk of rock most certainly. It's definitely a relief.
And you have left me such a beautiful long comment; thank you so much for that. I pretty much agree with everything you've said in regards to the first two (and I would like to add to that, I am most grateful for your comments about Applejack's background, as that's exactly what I was going for. Er, in a very quick and doodle-y sort of way, at least, as it sounds far more profound than the reality the way you phrase it). I'm glad you like therapist-Twilight as you were one of the people to whom I said I would draw her, if I'm not mistaken, Discord's expression (as really, it was the expression/eyes that were the idea behind the entire picture), and of course Rarity. And as you asked, I think the reason Rarity comes so naturally to me is just because I spend/have spent so much time drawing her... I could probably sketch her in my sleep at this point haha. There's so much pony that I've sketched and doodled in my notebooks and files that I'll never get around to finishing... only a relatively small percentage ends up making it to this blog, I think!
Anyway though, thank you so very much again and as always... these comments always make my day. ^_^
Thank you again, all~!
@WhiteDiamonds
Ah, so that's where Tom went...
Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday; you never need to apologize for being away from your blog when RL beckons, as that's far more important. And you may have made a mistake in mentioning a wealth of pony sketches and doodles in your notebooks; now I'd like to see some of them. *^^* Rough sketches can have an energy and a looseness that finished works struggle to capture.
@DJB123
I couldn't agree more; well said.
@DJB123
I understand dear... and honestly, when you put it that way I can't help but agree (even in regards to the sad fanfiction that I mentioned earlier). I suppose it is a wonderful thing to be able to convey and evoke emotions through any medium; it keeps us connected to each other, and I imagine is what all artists truly aspire to do. A very valid point.
On that note yes, I am very happy you enjoyed it, and thank you for sharing your thoughts. ^_^
@jodyjm13
Indeed, he seemed to find it to his liking to hitchhike around with me recently (after posting on this blog, apparently). But it's all good; I suppose he's just been lonely.
And well, yes... I don't feel the need to apologize necessarily, but I do feel bad when I am not always able to do all of the things that I want to do... here, and with my artwork, and otherwise. It's always been so, even though lately it's been even worse, as I've obviously had more going on in my personal life that eats up my time. But oh well, better than boredom I suppose!
And I guess I really did go and step right into that one didn't I? Haha.. Well I'll have to make an effort to get some of that sketchwork up here at some point. My flat-bed scanner has already been packed and so there's no way currently to get the stuff out of my notebooks onto the computer, but the loose-leaf sheets I can probably manage with this multipurpose thing my brother has. Digitally I have less to show because many of those doodles are what make it into these Roundups, but I might be able to find some, I shall have to look~ ;)
@Favo
That last part of the above comment goes to you too, dear! I'll look and see what I can find for you guys. ;)
I can only imagine what the margins of any suitably scribbleable tome you get your hands on looks like...
@Forderz
'Disasterpiece Theatre' is how I like to describe it.
@Favo
Oh no dear, there's nothing to feel bad about; certainly it's nothing that can be helped! I'm just a busy person who also happens to be too creative for my own good sometimes... I wish I had all the time in the world to devote to my craft and passions, yet even if I did that probably still wouldn't be enough. So no worries, it's always been that way for me and always will, I imagine!
Sooo... if anybody is reading this, and especially those of you who expressed interest in my sketches/legitimate uncolored doodles, I have a query for you. I did compile a small sketchdump of some digital sketches that are certainly legible and post-worthy if people are interested, though I'm not sure if I can say the same for the few traditional pencil-sketches I found. They really scanned horribly (and I don't use that term lightly) so I'm not sure if I should bother sticking them up... opinions anyone?
If you guys really do want to see them, I'd be willing to put them up regardless.
@WhiteDiamonds
Even though they didn't scan well, I'd still be interested in taking a look at your pencil sketches, if it's not too much trouble...
@WhiteDiamonds I'd still be interested in them regardless of scan quality
@Favo
@jodyjm13
@TomTheRock
Alrighty then, that's good enough for me! The people have spoken and so I shall post some pencil sketches, horrible quality and all. Thank you everyone for offering your input.
A little late on these drawings but I just wanted to say how much I love the Dash, Twilight, and Discord pictures! I absolutely adore your Rarity and AJ but it's really cool to see these other characters as well. Dash in particular looks awesome, dynamic, and ready for action - everything Rainbow should be! Great job with these.
@BossCrab
I know, it's true... I draw so much of my two favorite ponies that I suppose it's probably refreshing to see something different from me sometimes! I really am so happy to hear that you liked them all... thank you so much the feedback always means so much to me! *^-^*
