Drawfriend Doodle-Roundup #3

See my commentary about the way I title these things on my last roundup post... I still don't know how appropriate it is. Oh well though.

Anyhow, yay, some more new artwork to share, already! Thank goodness for days off. I was able to get a few little sketches of days past colored up today, have found a few potential qualifiers for a place to live (one to be seen tomorrow), and have this week's recorded episode of America's Next Top Model to watch a little bit later tonight (joy~)... life is good for the moment. So on that happy note, have some pony-doodles.

I don't care if I've said it before, Applejack truly needs more love, and I at least intend to do my best to show her some! Despite the more finished look to this picture (as compared to most of my other pony doodles) I actually got this done in pretty record time... I surprised myself actually.

Yay Applejack. <3

Ahaha, talk about a speed-doodle! This picture was drawn and colored very quickly, but it turned out decent enough despite this, I suppose. Embrace the excessive cuteness that is Fluttershy.

Ahhh my favorite guilty pleasure (well next to Mexican food that is.. *aherm*)... I told you all you're bound to get this sooner or later. And usually sooner. For those who are so inclined, have some implied Rarijack fluffiness, and for those who are not so, err... feel free to interpret this as you will!

Though it is a bit belated now, I told Derpy on her EqD birthday thread that I would draw her a fanart, and I meant it! I know it's not much but I like to hope she'd enjoy it all the same. This was also my first time drawing our favorite wonky pegasus and I very much enjoyed the experience. ^^

And lastly, have something a little bit different from me... some excessively (probably obnoxiously) cute chibi-ponies. I doodled these for fun a week or two ago and decided to color them for sharing, in a completely different style than my usual MLP fare (just to mix things up a bit I suppose). Yes~

Well, that's all for now friends! With any luck I shall be back with more sometime within the next week or so, including another commissioned work that is currently in the planning and development stages, haha. Until then dears~!

Back, Bearing Artwork

Greetings, dearest readers! Finally, at long last I have returned with a new artwork, and a commissioned one at that! As this is my very first piece of commissioned fanart, specifically, it goes without saying I am quite excited, yay~ ^.^

This artwork was done for a friend of mine from EqD, the very talented Pogosama. If you haven't heard of him or his music before than I certainly encourage you to check it out now; he does some fantastic work in a variety of genres, all with equal aptitude! He came to me wanting something with a specific jazz-inspired mood and starring none other than our favorite pony Rarity... I certainly hope I did it proper justice!

Originally I had imagined more of a flapper-type ensemble for Rarity in this piece but my vision called for something a little more pensive and elegant and less exuberant... a little more '30s Depression Era and less Roaring '20s I suppose. But yes. Looking at it now I realize this is the second fanart of Rarity with a martini I have drawn in the past several weeks, as well... hopefully that doesn't say anything about me. *ahem*

It is good to be back though! And with any luck I should have some more new pony arts to share very soon, even if they are just some happy doodles. Until then~!

The Update About... No Updates

Good evening all. It's always irritated me to no end when authors/artists/bloggers/whoever address their audiences for the sheer purpose of stating they have nothing new to share, but that's essentially what I'm doing right now (you have to love hypocrisy). I apologize for doing so myself, but as it's my custom to try and get some new artwork up every few days or so, and mostly because I have some commissioned works in progress for a few of you, I felt letting people know what was going on was the only polite thing to do.

So yes, I'm afraid I've been quite busy lately... in addition to overtime work at the studio again this week, I was recently told I have to be out of my home by this time next month, as the owner is losing their primary residence and needs to move back into the house I am currently living in. Considering the fact that moving is probably my least-favorite thing in the world (even with plenty of notice), I'm sure you can imagine my delight at this, and needless to say I haven't had much time for fangeekery over the past several days. However, rest assured that whenever I do have any free time I'm working on getting things done, starting with commissioned works first, and with any luck I should have some updates for you all sometime within the next several days.

In the meantime have a drawn in five minutes, stressed-out Rarity doodle (to be colored at some point in the future, when I am able) to hopefully tide you all over until then. Peace, all!

Drawfriend Doodle-Roundup #2

I'm not really sure why I titled my original post on this blog as a 'Drawfriend Roundup'... I guess it's because all the art I posted I had previously submitted to EqD's Drawfriend (though only about half of them were actually featured). So even if it's not strictly true, for the sake of continuity I suppose I'll title this similarly.

Anyway though! Just a bunch of random pony doodles, most of which I sketched over the past couple days and colored last night. None of them are much artistically-speaking but then, I guess that's why I call them doodles.

PinkieDash shipping, you say? Well, maybe not necessarily, even though that pairing is rather cute when I think about it, I suppose. But in all honesty this idea just came to me, entirely devoid of context so I'll leave that up to each of you to interpret.

I suppose "meh" says it all, doesn't it? Just a quick Rarity doodle, looking bored (but still fabulous, of course).

...Yeah, I'm not really sure what I was thinking either. o_o It just came to me. To be honest I really don't love this picture, even for a doodle it irks me somehow but perhaps somepony else will enjoy it! Perhaps...

Okay I will not lie... I actually made this picture last week but didn't post it because I didn't like it! And I still don't, but again maybe somepony else will... hopefully anyway.

Haha... I really can't help myself. Give me any length of time and tell me to draw ponies and sooner or later (usually sooner) you shall get Applejack and Rarity. I really can't say for certain what's going on in this little scene for those who are curious... again, interpret it as you will. ;)

And that's all for now dearies! More to come soon enough though, including a special piece I've had in the works for someone. Until then~ ^_^

Head in the Clouds

Good evening all. Not too much in the way of artworks today but I did at least want to tack up a very speedy Rainbow Dash doodle I colored... I figured it was better than nothing after all, and not to mention I'd hate for people to start thinking I had something against our darling Dash (seeing as how there is a conspicuous absence of her on this blog thus far)!

But yes. I do have a couple days off work rolling around shortly and with any luck, that will mean some more artwork to come then. In the meantime, stay fabulous~!

Yet More Artwork, Joy~!

Yes me again... this is what happens when I'm left without my sewing machine I suppose; I make more fanart and put more time into it to boot!

I'm sure most people have deduced by now that Applejack and especially Rarity are my two favorite ponies and so I guess it's only natural I tend to devote most of my fanart energies to them (for which I make no apologies by the way, they both need more love anyway!). This picture was somewhat inspired by a cute little exchange in chapter 17 of Growing Pains, one of the few pony fanfics I've read and one of an even smaller number among those I follow when I have the time. But yes.

Not only did I put a little more time into this picture than usual, I made it on a much larger scale as well (in response to popular demand). I might continue to do the latter with my future projects if people prefer it... do let me know you all, won't you?

Until next time then, cheers all~! ^.^

Burning the Midnight Oil

Poor Twilight. This picture is a pretty accurate representation of how I've been looking and feeling this past week, after ten days straight of working overtime at the studio (we've been making Christmas ornaments by the kiln-full, to be ready for the upcoming season). Thank Goddess, though, that I finally had a much-needed day off today, and after indulging in some comfort food and a Project Runway marathon all afternoon, I was able to get some fanart done, yay!

Hopefully, now that things shouldn't be quite as busy with my day job, and since my poor sewing machine is currently in the shop (;_;), effectively meaning I'll be doing less work at home, there will be more to come soon enough. Until then darlings~!
