Burning the Midnight Oil

Poor Twilight. This picture is a pretty accurate representation of how I've been looking and feeling this past week, after ten days straight of working overtime at the studio (we've been making Christmas ornaments by the kiln-full, to be ready for the upcoming season). Thank Goddess, though, that I finally had a much-needed day off today, and after indulging in some comfort food and a Project Runway marathon all afternoon, I was able to get some fanart done, yay!

Hopefully, now that things shouldn't be quite as busy with my day job, and since my poor sewing machine is currently in the shop (;_;), effectively meaning I'll be doing less work at home, there will be more to come soon enough. Until then darlings~!

I love this drawing, maybe because I've been there, done that. Glad to hear things are looking up for you!

Awwww, poor Twi. Enjoy the time off WD, sounds like you definitely earned it.

Oh I've been through far worse before; a little overtime is nothing I can't handle. But thank you dear, you're very kind. ^^

@jodyjm13

Hehe, glad you like this one my friend. ^_~ And yes I think this must be a situation most of us have found ourselves in at one point or another, not that that makes it any easier when you're going through it! In any case, thank you much!

@Pogosama

Thank you dearest! And yes, I'm now enjoying my second day off in a row... feels like I'm on vacation haha. Hopefully, as I said that means more artwork to come, now~ ^_~ *winkwink*

@DJB123

Oh that is extremely kind of you to say, and especially considering the limited number of pieces I have managed to create... thank you, I'm glad you enjoy my work. <=) I promise I will try to have more up soon; I have a few new pieces in the works as I type, actually!

And, I have a small Bernina model, the same I've been using for about 15 years now (my Bernadette... yes I named her). Unfortunately, you see, I recently loaned her to my older sister, who I think allowed my rather reckless nieces to use her. And now she is in the shop in need of repairs, hrrm...

In the meantime there's always hand-stitching, of course. Not to mention, as I said, it gives me a gorgeous excuse for some more personal art projects. ^.~

This my favorite of your Twilight Sparkle portraits, especially on days like today, when the sun takes a holiday.

Oh really, was it one of those days for you? It was sunny in my neck of southern California today (as usual), though the past several days were overcast. I actually really enjoy that kind of weather because we get it so seldom here.

And thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed this one! I really need to make more Twilight fanart.

We all have days like those, where the world slows to a crawl and the rhythm of thought falters.

I lived in Southern California once. I attended grade 1 in Davis, a very long time ago.

Today I have an out. Today I have no news digests prepared, no works from the art community to exhibit in my MLP community. You are right, there is need of more Twilight Sparkle. So today I shall post a screen capture of Twilight getting tossed in the air at her birthday party. And that will suffice.

Oh did you really? I've never been to Davis, but from everything I've heard it must be very nice.

And yes, I am having one of those days today myself, I do believe. Or at the very least one of those moments right now. I have so many things I really need to do, and yet I am so tired (and as a result, feeling almost lazy and peaceful enough in my fatigue) that all I want to do is lie down and watch the JTV station. Ah well, priorities.

I at least will make an effort to create more Twilight Sparkle art in the future. Once I get caught up with my multitude of commissioned pieces, that is.

Oh yes, I lived in some sort of split level apartment with my mother with a small cement backyard just off the kitchen and a grocery store the other side of a large parking lot. We went barefoot, so crossing the parking lot was an adventure. My mother attended UC Davis.

I hope your muse behaves herself and gets you back in the swing of things. Lazy days are nice but not when you also want to be productive. ^_^

I drew Twilight Sparkle on the back of an enveloppe (it's an awful drawing) instead of figuring out how to fix the library scene I want to do. X^) I think I'll go tend to my journal, it's easier.

^.^ That sounds rather nice. It's funny how certain memories/images from our childhoods stay so vivid in our minds while others seem to fall by the wayside, isn't it?

Yes, I really have been SO terribly busy lately that I'm afraid being lazy is all I've wanted to do the past few days, but for better or for worse life and responsibilities are calling, and so I am stuck balancing my day job, my side jobs (including my multiple pony commissions), still getting settled into my new home and my personal projects. The lattermost which has been pushed onto the back burner for weeks now, for the most part. Oh well, maybe someday soon I'll get all caught up, and then be able to rest a little bit so I can get caught up on my silly soap opera again. A girl can hope.

Hee, that reminds me of myself, absent-mindedly doodling design ideas, ponies, and whatever else comes to mind on any surface that I find in front of me. In any case I wish you luck on your endeavors, Twilight-centric or otherwise.
